hotel was in a convenient location and the front desk person was helpful
noisy, had issues with toilet but was fixed promptly
Hotel staff was helpful when we asked for directions. Gave us clear and precise information on public transport. Room was basic but clean.
A rather depressing rather than welcoming mood. Probably because it's an old building.
The location is excellent! Its just around the corner of Union square. Everything is around you and the area is fairly safe as well. The staff is very friendly, even its just a small hotel but the facilities is very good..
The room is very small and basic. Its more like like a basic motel then. The bed is small as well even if you book a double bed it still small. They don't have a room with 2 single bed which is we more prefer. My partner had to sleep on the floor because the double bed was too small for both of us for our comfort when sleeping..
Thanks a lot the helps from them. :) Especially solving the problem of wireless! This is the first time I visit usa, but feel happy to meet you!
The staff on the front desk were very helpful, not only to do with the hotel but with our general stay in san fran, best parts to visit, shops for food etc. Generally very helpful. Pleasant stay.
the staff were really helpful the hotel is in an excellent postion and all amenities were clean
I like the affordability of the hotel. The room was clean & the staff was friendly and accommodating. It is also located in a prime area in San Francisco.
The hotel front staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Ridell, Excellent location near China Town, Market St and the Financial district, a no frills, clean, comfortable budget hotel that met our needs for a place to stay in the heart of the city at reasonable rate. Ridell graciously accomodated our request to change from a common bathroom to a in-room bathroom at a modest mark-up for which we were very appreciative.
Old fashioned elevator, a little quirky at times but got the job done overall. The antique elevator doors are a bit awkward and take some effort to open,
Location is phenomenal.
It was scary --- especially for single women. People live there --- it looked like a half-way house. Room looked like a jail cell. Not even cable television. I was afraid to sleep in the bed.
Had a really really enjoyable experience from start to finish. The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. Rooms were quaint, decent size, clean, bright, freshly decorated and cleaned everyday, fridge in the room, really good kitchen facilities, free wifi, amazing central location right next to major shopping centres and transport connections (like 5 min walk if that). Area was great- had read that perhaps was a little dodgy at night but we didnt feel it was any different to any other busy city and we felt safe. Very very good value for the traveller on a budget who can't afford ( and doesn't want) 5* prices but still wants a decent hotel!
My only slight grumble would be that if you have a room on the front of sutter street it can get noisy with vehicles (street cleaning, ambulance, fire etc). This only affected me once l think in a six night stay and never heard rowdy noises of people though.
Excellent staff. Very clean. Kitchen available. No complaints. Shared bathrooms but are very clean and 2 available on each floor. great location only minutes from union square
location and great staff
shared bathrooms are never ideal but I never had a problem with wiating or anything so was ok.
Great location, and friendly staff
The sounds of the garbage collection from the alley outside my window, around midnight
The location and the price for San Francisco. Was very clean and staff very helpful and cheerful.
Very old hotel and room was very basic but we didnt expect much for the price given its San Francisco. Front rooms are very noisy from the noise from the street, need better window glazing. And actual soap in bathroom rather than body lotions tubes is a better idea.
Location to shopping and activities! Very reasonable priced for location and amenities!
Shared bathroom although we were upgraded to in-room bathroom on our return leg one week after we first stayed there!
